Here are a couple of resources that might helpful for anyone taking EE 432/532.
- A CyMOS process calculator. This is a little javascript gizmo that puts all of the textbook calculations together in one place. Just type in all your CyMOS process parameters, and the calculator will tell you what to expect, according to the exact equations from the class notes. These should be (nearly) identical to the results you would obtain from hand calculations. Of course, these are approximations, at best — many important details are not included in the textbook equations. Be sure to read the instructions/disclaimers on the calculator page. If you have questions about how the calculator works, you can contact G. Tuttle.
- Updated instructions for using SUPREM. If you want to simulate the CyMOS (or any process) the professional way, use SUPREM. (In comparison, the above javascript calculator is an "amateur" simulator.) Once you get past the initial hassles of accessing the software, SUPREM is pretty easy to use and can be extremely insightful for understanding semiconductor processing. (SUPREM is to fabrication what SPICE is circuit design.) Give it a try.
